TradeTrawler

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026 Operator: TradeTrawler ("we", "us"). Contact: trade@tradetrawler.com

1. What TradeTrawler is

TradeTrawler is a web application that runs in your own Google account. You use it to journal and analyse trades exported from TradingView, and to replay and tune the BullShark and Bearracuda strategies.

2. Google user data we access, and why

DataGoogle permissionWhat we do with it
Files TradeTrawler creates in your Google Drive (a "TradeTrawler" folder, your journals ("Nets") and price-history cache files)drive.file: files the app created onlyCreate, open, rename and delete only those files, when you ask the app to. We cannot see any other file in your Drive.
The contents of those spreadsheetsspreadsheetsWrite the trades, account settings and price bars you import, and read them back to show your charts, statistics and database. The app opens only the spreadsheets it created.
Your Google account email addressuserinfo.email, openidTie your subscription licence to your account, so it cannot be shared, and prove to our simulator server that a request comes from you (a short-lived Google sign-in token that carries your email).

We do not access your Gmail, Calendar, contacts, or any Drive file that TradeTrawler did not create.

3. Where your data is stored and who can see it

  1. Your journals live in your own Google Drive. They are Google Sheets you own; you can open, download or delete them at any time. They are stored by Google under Google's own terms.
  2. App settings (for example which journal is open, and display choices) are stored in your own per-user storage for the app, inside Google Apps Script.
  3. The strategy simulator runs on TradeTrawler's server on Google Cloud (Cloud Run, in Google's Taiwan region). When you run it, the price bars and the settings of that run are sent there, and when you open a trade's path, that trade's entry time, entry price and stop. They're used only to compute what you asked for. So that you don't have to send the same price bars again, the server keeps them in TradeTrawler's own private, encrypted Google Cloud storage in the same region, for up to 30 days after you last used them; then they're deleted automatically. The settings and trades of a run are not kept: they're held in the server's memory only while it computes. The price bars are never shared and never used for anything else. Your journals and other files are not copied to the server.
  4. Your licence key is sent to our payment provider, Whop (whop.com), so it can confirm your subscription is active. No Google user data is sent to Whop. Whop's own privacy policy covers the payment details you give it.
  5. The app's pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and a font and the charting library from the public code sites jsDelivr and unpkg. Each receives the usual web request information (such as your IP address) under its own privacy policy. None of them receives your journals or Google data.

4. What we never do

  1. We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers.
  2. We do not use your data for advertising.
  3. We do not use your data to train AI or machine-learning models.
  4. We do not let any person read your data, except:
    • with your explicit permission (for example when you ask for support and share a file);
    • where the law requires it;
    • for security, such as investigating abuse.

Limited Use. TradeTrawler's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. How we protect your data

Your journals never leave Google's infrastructure: they stay in your Drive, and the app runs on Google Apps Script under your own account. The simulator's server is Google Cloud as well (Cloud Run): every connection to it is encrypted (HTTPS), it answers only a request that carries your Google sign-in token and a licence check signed by the app, and it keeps the price bars it's sent in private, encrypted storage that only the server can read, separately for each account. We keep the operator's own Google account protected with two-step verification.

6. How long data is kept, and how to delete it

  1. Your journals stay in your Drive until you delete them. Deleting the "TradeTrawler" folder deletes all of them.
  2. To stop all access, remove TradeTrawler at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The app can then no longer read or write anything.
  3. App settings stored for you by Apps Script are deleted on request: email trade@tradetrawler.com. We delete them within 30 days.
  4. Simulator data on our server: the price bars are deleted automatically 30 days after you last used them, or sooner on request (email trade@tradetrawler.com; we delete them within 30 days). The settings and trades sent for a run are not kept after it. The server's request logs (the time, size and result of each request, and the IP address Google Cloud records) are deleted after 7 days; they never contain your price bars, settings, trades or email address.
  5. Subscription records are kept by Whop under its own policy.

7. Children

TradeTrawler is not intended for anyone under 18.

8. Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use Google user data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
